The great potential of fishery resources in the Indian Ocean can be optimally utilized by the community of West Sumatra if adequate fishery infrastructure is available.The development of Overlay Membrane this infrastructure should ideally synergize with the outputs and outcomes of previous coastal area development programs in West Sumatra.One initial step to create this synergy is to analyze the conditions of the capture fisheries and the available infrastructure in the coastal areas, namely fisheries facilities and infrastructures, as well as the capture fisheries area development programs.This research utilized data and information obtained from field observations, interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), questionnaire surveys, and secondary data from government agencies.
